On September 13, 2011 in Dalian (China) at the « Annual Meeting of the New Champions » organized by the World Economic Forum, our TechnoCharity friend, Mr. Chay Lo from 1001 fontaines pour demain was awarded the title of “Social Entrepreneur of the year 2011 for Asia” by the Schwab Foundation.
The purpose of this prize, which is awarded for the first time to an initiative developed by a Cambodian, is to highlight social entrepreneurship as a key element to address social and ecological problems in an innovative, sustainable and effective way and to identify young social entrepreneurs of the next generation who develop highly innovative and sustaiable approaches.
This event reinforces our commitment to scale-up our approach to reach more beneficiaries in rural areas of Cambodia, and other places in the near future.
Today we are happy to share the good news with partners, friends of 1001 fontaines and TC, and we take this opportunity to thank all of them for their help in demonstrating our projects’ worth and achieving sustainable impact on people’s life, said Mr. Chay Lo.
We will continue to move forward with our projects, and we will continue to need support and encouragement from our partners, for the sake of thousands of families that still lack access to safe drinking water.
