WHO WE ARE
Techno Charity is a charitable organization, historically founded in 2006 by 50 engineers who graduated from the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC – សាលាតិចណូ) in 2003. The organization’s mission is to improve the quality of lives of those who live in extreme poverty in remote areas of Cambodia. We have been actively involved in helping the poor in remote communities. In the past, we have built new pump wells, repaired and restored old wells, distributed school supplies to children, and taught English classes in poor communities. Thus far, we have relied upon charitable donations from alumni, friends and families as the main sources of our funding. What makes our organization unique is we’re composed of solely volunteer who sacrifices times and resources to make differences. Our engineering backgrounds and experiences in various industries have played a major part in our successes in the past. It’s the organization’s vision to expand the scope of its operation in order to reach out to more communities around the country. One of the organization’s main goals is to reach out to those who do not have access to safe drinking water across the country. In the next five years, our target is to raise $100,000 for the project “Clean and Safe Water for the Poor”.
HOW WE WORK
In our charity project, we begin by doing the feasibility study of the project. We investigate the situation of people, the degree of their need, the estimated cost and the time needed to implement the project in an optimal way. When the study is concluded, we start raising fund to support our activities. Once the needed fund is collected, the project will be implemented as planned.
Our team of experienced engineers will serve as project’s quality control consultants. We’ll work closely with other non-profit organizations that have expertise in this area. To ensure the health and safety of citizens who consume the waters, we’ll perform lab test on the water to make sure it meets safety standard. We’re in an agreement with 1001Fontaines, a non-profit organization that has expertise in clean water treatment, to provide free consulting and trainings to the people with regard to clean water treatment.
Participation of the community will be a key component to the success of the program in the long-run. Our engineers will educate people on how to properly maintain wells and ponds and to keep them from being contaminated. We’ll also continue to provide technical support when needed.
